The Flood And The Storm (Short Story)
The Flood And The Storm
(Short Story)
In a dark forest, the Crow and the Rabbit lived in their houses. All knew that Crow will live in nest and Rabbit will live in burrows (hole). They lived in their respective houses for a long time. They lead their lives happily. One day, they planned to organize party to their friends in the forest. They sent invitations to all of their friends.
In those invited guests, the Eagle and the Snake were considered to be important. When Snake saw Crow’s nest it said “Why are you living in this kind of house? It can go away when a big storm approached towards the tree”. Crow heard everything without giving any reply.
When Eagle saw the Rabbit, it criticized about the house where the Rabbit lived. In addition, Eagle said that if heavy flood approached the burrow it would be no more. Even the Rabbit maintained silence without giving any reply.
After few days, the forest was affected by heavy storm and flood. The Crow flew away from the tree and reached another forest where it built its new nest and lived happily.
In the same way Rabbit moved from its place and lived in another forest. But Eagle couldn’t find any nests to live because Eagle would lay eggs in the Crow’s nest. So, it couldn’t survive in the forest and realized its mistake.
In the case of Snake, it would live in the termites’ mud tube. So, it couldn’t survive happily. After undergoing these kinds of incidents, the Snake realized its mistake.
Moral: Without minding one’s own life condition, he should not speak about other’s life condition.
